6 Networks Doctoral Degree Programs

This programme of study allows the student to develop a foundation for understanding, implementing and making rational decisions about contemporary networking technologies. It analyzes contemporary terminology, concepts, technologies and devices used in the Internet industry.

This program provides a foundation for understanding, implementing, and rationally deciding on contemporary networking technologies. It analyzes the contemporary terminology, concepts, technologies, and devices used in the internet industry. It deals with both intentional and accidental dangers, as well as the threats confronting computers mainframe systems and networks. It also shows how to detect and prevent these hazards and how to minimize the potential losses caused by fraud and/or human errors.

The research thesis of this PhD programme should provide a basis for understanding, implementation and rational decision making on contemporary networking technologies. Analyze contemporary terminology, concepts, technologies and devices used in the Internet industry. It should develop both intentional and accidental threats and threats to computer mainframe systems and networks. It should also show how to detect and prevent these threats and how to minimise potential losses caused by fraud and/or human error.

The PhD program in Network Science is a research-oriented program that provides the only PhD degree in this field in Europe. Network science provides essential tools to study complex systems including society online and offline, the economy or urban traffic. Accordingly, the program provides hands-on experience with large datasets characterizing those systems and the skills needed to analyze them.

Spun off from the Laboratory of Science and Technology for Learning of the Computer Science and Information Engineering Department, the Graduate Institute of Network Learning Technology (NLT) was established in 2002 with a foundation built from the first phase of the 4-year University Pursuit of Academic Excellence Project on Learning Technology started in 2000, supported by the Ministry of Education.
