The mission of the Mina and Everard Goodman Faculty of Life Sciences is to impart biological knowledge and scientific education based on modern research. In addition to imparting knowledge, we strive to arouse the curiosity of our students and to cultivate their intellectual and cultural growth.

The Faculty ascribes great importance to the study of health and disease unique to the Galilee population with the objective of improving health services for the residents of northern Israel, meeting their needs, and ultimately benefiting all of the people of Israel.

The Melton Centre offers a Ph.D. program in Jewish Education. Graduates of the program have substantially contributed to the knowledge base of the field and are to be found in influential academic and educational positions in Israel and throughout the world.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences offers graduate programs leading to the Master of Arts degree in the Departments of Behavioral Sciences, Bible and Ancient Near-Eastern Studies, Hebrew Language, Hebrew Literature, History, and Philosophy.

The Teaching Division of Biomedical Sciences offers a wide range of specialization tracks, combining research and studies in medical and life sciences with emphasis on understanding the functioning of the human body in situations of health and disease. The program prepares its graduates for teaching and research positions in academic institutions, and research and works in knowledge-intensive industries, hospitals, and healthcare systems.

The Faculty of Natural Science constantly endeavors to increase the number and quality of its students, to continually develop areas of study in order to keep pace with the demands of society and to maintain the excellence of its teaching. In addition, the Faculty encourages interaction with the community by attempting to strengthen its ties with industry and the national educational system.

The Ph.D. in Engineering Program offered by the Faculty of Engineering Sciences is designed to provide a fundamental approach to basic engineering principles with an emphasis on scientific methods. The aim of coursework and research projects is to develop individuals capable of creative work in engineering science and areas of specialization in engineering research and development or teaching.

The program aims to train the top tier of future mathematicians and offers a uniquely attractive environment to learn and work, with weekly seminars, frequent special lecture series on current topics in mathematics, and scientific exchange.

PhD in Business & Management helps to grow demand for well-trained, competent, and creative managers prompting Ben-Gurion University to establish The Faculty of Management. Comprising five departments, The Faculty attracts large numbers of highly qualified applicants. Student selection is competitive, with only a small percentage of candidates being accepted each year.

A global leader in computational neuroscience, the Center boasts one of the widest, most diverse academic programs in the field. Our five-year Ph.D. program provides the most promising graduate students with the theoretical and experimental tools required to achieve true interdisciplinary research capabilities. This wide, solid base will allow you to understand how the nervous system efficiently performs a wide variety of functions, including perception and action, learning and memory, thought, and creativity.

Bioengineering is a multidisciplinary field that weaves together knowledge of biology, physics, chemistry, and engineering to create cutting-edge tools for the study of biology or the practice of medicine. This rapidly growing field provides a new level of understanding of biological systems, ranging from the molecular scale to entire organisms, by applying engineering-based analytical and experimental approaches.

The Ph.D. program is a 4-year degree (sometimes extended to 5) in which students master a subfield of physics. Doctoral students perform research at the highest level, advancing the state of the art in their subfields. Upon successful completion, our Ph.D. students take their place among the nation’s scientific leaders, in both academia and industry.

The Faculty of Health Sciences at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev is dedicated to excellence in the education and training of doctors and medical professionals, as well as to excellence in medical research of all kinds. The mission of the FOHS is to educate medical professionals who consider patients holistically, within their familial, social, and cultural contexts. This unique community-centered approach is evident in our applicant screening process, which is based on individual interviews, student involvement in community health projects, and in the curriculums of our various schools and programs, emphasizing the bio-psycho-social approach.

The study of Neuroscience is viewed by many as the ultimate frontier of science. It comprises a diverse set of approaches, from the study of genes to the study of neurons, synapses, circuits, behavior, and cognition. Neuroscience in the Weizmann Institute embraces research in all of these aspects.
