PhD in Economics and Finance This PhD programme is jointly run by the Universities of Trento and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano.

International Ph.D. in Economics. Université Côte d'Azur (UniCA) international Ph.D. in economics offers training in traditional economic disciplines - like microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, financial market analysis, industrial organization - and training in disciplines embedding a complexity-based perspective such as computational economics, experimental economics, the analysis of financial and economic networks.

The PhD in Economics is a 4-year programme designed for highly qualified and motivated students who wish to acquire the research and analytical skills of the international scientific community in Economics. The Programme is offered in close cooperation with UCA-University of Cote d’Azur (Nice, France), and an agreement for the exchange of students and faculty is also in place with the University of Strasbourg (France) and IMT-School Lucca.

The economics science program studies how people interact with things of value. Specifically, the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. Economics focuses on the behavior and interactions of economic agents and how economies work. Economics is a science because it can be approached scientifically and its theories can be tested. However, economists are not scientists but technicians, who need to continually delve into laws and rules by interpreting their meaning for the best application in economics and finance. This program uses the A.P.E.L. (Accreditation Prior Experiential Learning) system. It is addressed to 30 years old Managers, Entrepreneurs, Professionals having at least 5 years of industry experience. A Master's degree or equivalent is required to access the program. The entire course is carried out in Distance Learning.
