For those interested in the deepest grounding in the science of physical therapy, the Doctor of Physical Therapy is the most intensive study of our profession available. Samford's Doctor of Physical Therapy is a three-year program with a heavy emphasis on the sciences. You will develop the foundation you need to make effective evidence-based decisions for your patients.

All of our programs are duly licensed by the Puerto Rico Board of Education (CEPR) and accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). At the undergraduate level (teacher preparation programs), we have the specialized accreditation granted by The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).

Physical Therapy is one of the fastest growing and most rewarding careers in the United States. Today's physical therapists play a significant role in the concept of total patient management and are specialists in addressing movement dysfunction while focusing on preventative care to minimize disability for a wide range of age groups in a variety of settings. The Walsh University Physical Therapy curriculum, an intensive three-year (8-semester) program, including summers, leads to a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
