The Welding Engineering Technology program offers full- time, two years of hands-on education. The first year focuses on academic fundamentals and structural steel design and fabrication. During the second year, you will learn pressure vessel design, construction, and testing. You will design, build and test a pressure vessel as part of your final project. Practical welding skills are also developed to gain an in-depth understanding of welding processes.

The Welding Technology curriculum provides students a sound understanding of the science, technology, and application essential for successful employment in the welding and metals industries.

Welding Diploma is a two-semester program designed for individuals seeking skill development and certification in common welding procedures leading to employment in a variety of industries.

In this NZQA accredited course, you can boost your education and career opportunities with this specialised welding qualification. You will build on your existing welding skills, gain more experience in our ‘real world’ workshop, and pick up four industry recognised welding tickets. In this 16 week course you’ll advance your existing welding skills and spend time in our ‘real-world’ workshop to gain up to four industry-recognised Welding tickets and your Certificate in Career Preparation for Specialised Welding Level 4.

The Diploma of Welding and Fabrication Technician is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program with a paid co-op component. Students will learn a mix of theoretical and practical knowledge in the new state-of-the-art welding lab. Graduates will feel confident entering the workforce after a significant amount of in-lab practice time to master their craft.

Take metal fabrication projects from the engineering drawing stage through the cutting and forming processes to the welding and inspection phase. Working in our welding lab, you’ll gain hands-on experience by using industry-standard equipment to hone your welding skills and take projects from concept to finished product. You have the option to start your apprenticeship and will also have unique opportunities to work on community and applied research projects and polish your skills in the real world. Required work preparation sessions help you develop an industry-specific resume and effective interviewing skills. Our program features an optional, paid co-op directly related to your program of study.
