Carpentry and Joinery students have access to an exciting range of specialist resources at the College. Our state-of-the-art workshops are equipped with specialist tools and resources for a wide range of creative craft subjects. We are able to offer you the opportunity to develop your skill set to the highest level and prepare you for your future career. Guided by our specialist staff and expert guest lecturers you’ll develop your skills in joint making, use portable power tools and second fix carpentry work. Through our strong industry links you will also have the opportunity to take part in extra-curricular activities including site visits and take part in competitions to hone your skills on a world stage.

This qualification covers many areas within Electro technical technology, units such as principles of electrical science, electrical installations technology and health and safety within Building Services Engineering. Candidates will be assessed by on-demand multiple choice tests (available through the City & Guilds assessment platform e-volve) and practical assignments.

This study programme is designed to provide a solid foundation in animal care and husbandry and is suitable for anyone looking to progress onto further education, training or employment in the animal industry. This course aims to develop confidence, knowledge and skills and is the ideal platform for progression onto our Level 3 provision. Animal Care students have access to an exciting range of specialist resources at the College, including our amazing Animal Welfare Centre which houses over 130 different domestic and exotic species, including mammals, reptiles, birds, fish, amphibians and invertebrates, with our monkeys and wallabies being amongst the favourites. Our Level 3 Diploma in Horticulture provides you with practical horticultural techniques and skills. If you are interested in broadening your knowledge of garden design and landscaping or in the business of growing ornamental plants, fruits or vegetables, this course is the right one for you. Our Horticulture students have access to an exciting range of specialist resources at the College. You will use our fully equipped glasshouse and laboratory facilities for practical lessons such as coppicing and propagation and theory such as plant and soil sciences.

This qualification is slightly smaller version of the Extended Diploma in Public Services, and is equivalent to two A-Levels instead of three. This version of the qualification will allow students to retake their GCSEs in English and/or Maths if they have not yet achieved a grade 4 or above. On this course you will still study a wide range of public services subjects aimed at the uniformed and non-uniformed public services such as the police, fire service and the armed forces. This course will provide you with extensive practical knowledge of the public services sector and teach you a range of industry skills so you can perform effectively in any public services role.

Horse Management students have access to an exciting range of specialist resources at the College. They will have access to all of the college horses, riding once a week and will regularly be on the professional Equine yard working with other students, commercial staff and lecturers. The Equine centre comprises of a 60m x 40m indoor riding arena, Large outdoor arena, cross country paddock and off road hacking around the extensive estate. Students have the opportunity to bring their horse with them for the extent of their course or for the week while they are on commercial experience.

Our Level 1 Diploma in Plumbing is designed to kick start your learning in this sector using practical and theoretical lessons.
