4 Occupational Therapy Diploma Programs

At Centennial College's Occupational Therapist Assistant & Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA & PTA) program, you'll learn to support people whose ability to function and adapt has been impaired or compromised due to injury, illness, or conditions affecting participation in daily activities. Through training in this health care diploma program, which will consist of current theoretical knowledge and practical experiences, you'll develop competencies to become a compassionate, client-centred and reflective rehabilitation practitioner who will be prepared with the knowledge and skills to work in the dynamic health care field.

Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program where students learn the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology, rehabilitation, professional communication, musculoskeletal conditions, and neurological skills. Graduates will be prepared to work under the direction of occupational therapists and/or physiotherapists.

With ever-increasing numbers of aging people requiring assistance to continue a full life and with changes to the way health care services are delivered, the need has never been greater for Occupational Therapist Assistants and Physiotherapist Assistants. The Lambton College Occupational Therapist & Physiotherapist Assistant, Ontario College Diploma program will train students to support and enable individuals of all ages whose ability to function in their daily activities has been impaired due to illness, injury, surgery, or chronic health conditions. 

This programme is aimed at professionals who wish to enhance their current practice in the use of expressive arts or those who wish to integrate the academic and practical applications of the creative process into their therapeutic work with people.
