Based at our Corby campus, our engineering courses are offered at all levels to enable progression through the different stages of your skills development.

Access courses are designed as a stepping stone to enable motivated, enthusiastic people to progress on to Higher Education. This course has been designed specifically to meet the requirements of universities, who increasingly demand a substantial science and mathematics content in order to enable progression onto an engineering, science or mathematics related degree.

The aim of this course is to give the students an academically challenging educational experience that will enable them to develop the knowledge base, professional attitudes, leadership skills, and commercial awareness to serve both the construction industry and society. The course also aims to provide the student with the opportunity to develop skills for lifelong learning.

If you like construction and working with your hands, welding is a useful skill to learn. This programme is for people who are new to welding and fabrication. After learning the basic fundamentals of trades practices, diesel engines, fuel systems, power trains, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, steering and brake systems in first year, you will be introduced to diesel engine construction and classification, power trains, traction controls and wheel final drives, electrical and electronics, and air conditioning.
