In Digital Interactive Media you will gain skills and knowledge in industry-standard graphics packages to develop a range of projects. This might include advertisements, logos, 2D and 3D animations, web pages and design and layout techniques, in addition to undertaking work experience as part of the 2-year course.

That means that today’s digital storytellers need to use a variety of tools to create content through linear, non-linear, and live interactive productions delivered to a multitude of screens. Although the medium has changed, the basics of good storytelling have not. The best content creators still need to grab attention to get their messages across demonstrating good cinematography and post production skills.

Beginning in Fall 2023, this program will be offered as part of our new Interactive Design diploma where you can specialize in one of three in-demand majors — Graphic Design, User Experience (UX) or Web Design and Development. New Media Production and Design is a technology centred program that promotes critical thinking to develop engaging content for web-based user experiences and provides comprehensive training in the tools and techniques used for web design and development. The program emphasizes project­-based and hands-on training, with students working in teams to produce comprehensive and useful media products.

Our Bachelor in Interactive Media is a three-year degree (or two-year accelerated program). In this degree, you will gain multi-disciplined and hands-on experience that is underpinned by theoretical knowledge.

This course prepares you for a range of careers in technical and creative areas such as camera, lighting, sound, editing, 3D modelling, animation, scriptwriting, creative writing, ideas generation, and pre and post-production.

Managing creatives and the creative process in collaboration with other functional teams requires a broad skillset, including technical know-how and leadership characteristics. Established techniques of leadership and management will be taught alongside access to the faculty’s wide range of creative activities. Creative practitioners are increasingly being regarded as multi-disciplinary within the design industry.
