This general design Diploma of Higher Education in Design and Innovation focuses on developing creative design thinking to address problems in every aspect of life. The design modules feature online design studios, social networking and inspiring study materials alongside a practical component. As well as design, you’ll study modules in complementary subjects to gain skills and knowledge in an area that fits your needs and interests.

This is one of several subject combinations available in our Diploma of Higher Education in Computing & IT and a second subject (W42). With this diploma, you can specialise in an area of computing and IT and combine it with design, dividing your time equally between subjects. Our Diploma of Art & Design prepares you for a degree in fine art, Architecture, Industrial Design, Communication Design, Spatial Design and Collaborative Design at Monash University.

The design option offers students the opportunity to understand the world and the environment, interpret them and design proposals for objects or object systems in line with changing needs.

A Diploma of Design lets you a sample a range of specialist areas within design, such as graphic design, digital design, video production, interior design and fashion. It builds a foundation in the design industry, typically over one year of full-time study, with guidance from industry professionals and collaboration with other students.
