The arts embody some of the highest aspirations of the human spirit. The St. Joseph's University, New York art department introduces students to the depth of this form of human expression. Art history and theory help students cultivate an understanding of the origins and practices of artists pertaining to geography, culture and time. Art history courses span prehistoric through the modern era, and examine contemporary visual culture. Studio courses include: graphic design, Web design, drawing, painting, printmaking, digital photography, sculpture, ceramics and crafts.

A Diploma of Arts helps prepare you for a broad range of further study in arts, communication or social science, by exploring a broad range of disciplines including linguistics, cultures, criminality and creativity. By completing a Diploma of Arts, you will be qualified to gain entry level positions in a range of fields using the practical teamwork and communication skills which you acquired whilst studying at SIBT. Our students who successfully complete the diploma will be eligible to enter second year of a bachelor’s degree at university.
