“Aircraft Maintenance Technician” means a person who performs inspections and troubleshooting of an aircraft, including airframe structures, engines, and aircraft systems disassembles and removes defective parts, assembles and installs replacement parts, interprets technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints, tests aircraft systems, records problems and actions taken to rectify them, and maintains an accurate statement of the maintenance history of the aircraft.

Graduates gain cutting-edge electronic system skills and knowledge of aerodynamics, safety, and flight control systems.

The Program includes aluminum fabrication and repair, carbon fiber and fiber glass lay ups and repair, Non-Destructive Evaluation (liquid penetrant and eddy current), and refinishing and painting. This Transport Canada approved program provides theory and hands-on training to prepare students for certification by Transport Canada, as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Structures AME-S. 12 months credit towards the 36 months practical work experience required for certification.

The Avionics Technology program offers the student the knowledge and skills required to start a career as an aircraft maintenance engineer (AME) “E”. As an “E” licensed AME, you will be responsible for the servicing and repair of aircraft electrical and electronic systems. An “E” licensed aircraft maintenance engineer will maintain and repair the aircraft communication, navigation and data systems.
