Bachelor of Design with Honours As a Massey design student, you will spend most of your time making and thinking in studios, workshops and media labs.There are many opportunities to explore other design fields from your major through electives courses you choose. The Master of Design Technology (MDT) is an innovative programme where you can learn from world-leading professionals teaching in VFX, game design, animation, 3D motion graphics, and multimedia design. In this intensive one-year, full-time programme, you’ll produce a professional portfolio in your chosen focus of study as well as doing coursework.

Expand on your Bachelor's degree and get a head start in your career with advanced study and research in Master of Design Innovation. Get the specialist skills and knowledge you need to be a successful professional in the design industry. In this three-trimester programme, you'll learn the art of bringing ideas to life—from conception to design to construction.

You’ll develop your understanding of many aspects of digital design, including design principles, design elements, animation, photography, HTML design elements, creating an engaging user interface experience, developing effective content, digital citizenship, symbols, motif, and mark-making. You’ll use a variety of tools and technologies, including the Adobe suite, to explore your creative interests, build a portfolio, and add to your digital toolkit as you design and create digital media with the ‘wow’ factor.

Through engaging in a series of real world and in-house projects, utilising various creative disciplines including paint, sculpture, print, photography, graphic design and 3D design, you will obtain the skills, knowledge and attributes needed to think creatively and develop a career as a practicing creative. With your diploma completed successfully you can continue on to the second year of the Bachelor of Creative Practice.
