MSc Innovative Design is a multidisciplinary programme that brings together creativity and cutting-edge technologies. Students develop expertise in integrated innovation, human–product interaction, digital fabrication, and AI-enabled design, guided by teaching that spans engineering, design, and computing.

Throughout the Master International Design Strategy / China Studio students will learn to decipher the local behaviors and understand the Chinese market to offer a coherent project, adapted to users, with an anthropological approach to design. This program is a stepping stone to an international designer career.

The Fashion Design Programme provides participants with the techniques to design and create menswear or womenswear while responding to changing needs in the international fashion and luxury industries. Fashion designers are the inspiration for creative ideas and new trends, not only in clothing but also in fabric development. They create collections based on an informed analysis of materials and fabrics in connection with art, design, creativity, and fashion.

This degree is for graduates who want to deepen their understanding and hands-on skills in both research-for-design and research-by-design as a way to define the future of the design profession.

We aim to cultivate students who have a systematic knowledge of the art of design, high-level artistic creativity and excellent art comprehension and expressive force, and based on the Chinese culture foundation and international perspective, grasp the developing trends of art and design, able to engage in art and design work in related fields.

The Department of Art & Design, one of the most distinctive departments in Hefei University, has developed its running mode featuring industry and education combination after years of exploration. It offers six undergraduate specialties, i.e., Industrial Design, Product Design, Visual Communication Design, Environmental Design, Animation, Art, and Technology. At present, the department has 1,200 full-time students and a faculty of 60 including three professors and 6 associate professors. The department has over 10 visiting professors from Hannover University of Applied Sciences of Germany, Magdeburg University of Applied Sciences, Hanbat University of Korea, Taiwan Ming Chuan University and Yunlin University of Science and Technology. To expand the visions of students, corporate executives and experienced designers are invited and lectures are given on a regular basis.

The School of Design and Art now has five undergraduate majors in environmental design (including interior design and landscape design ), visual communication design, clothing, and apparel design, product design, and industrial design ( not enrolled for the time being), of which the environmental design major is National-level first-class undergraduate major construction point, undergraduate characteristic major of Jiangsu Province, design major (class) is the key major (class) of Jiangsu Province, the "Creativity and Design Experiment Center" of the college is the experimental teaching demonstration center of Jiangsu Province, with a student scale of 1165 people.
