The Department of Communication and Design educates students to enter the media as digital design professionals who are knowledgeable about global culture, media, and art and who are proficient in the contemporary technology of communications.

The Double Bachelor's Degree (three-year degree) in Fashion Design, jointly designed by the Second University of Naples (SUN) and the Okan University Art, fashion and Fashion Design Department, is based on the sharing of a semester and allows students enrolled at two universities to attend third year courses at the SUN and fourth year at Okan University, Department of Fashion Design and to obtain a double degree in "Design for Fashion" and "Fashion Design".

The Department of Urban Design and Landscape Architecture prepares future professionals whose designs will enhance the quality of urban life by means of natural and built elements.

The faculty of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design is committed to educating students through distinction in teaching and research, and encouragement of innovative projects.

Design Studies graduate program has been established with the aim of uniting all design disciplines in order to make these more creative by interacting. The program commenced its facilities in the 2006-2007 academic year, though advanced level research in Design Studies area is needed. That is why the doctoral program of Design Studies is going to admit students in the 2013-2014 academic year for the first time.

The Master's Program in Design Studies offers a common ground for various design disciplines and embraces interdisciplinary as an academic framework. Such interaction between disciplines will allow students to discover more creative solutions.

In parallel to the rising importance of seamanship in recent years, yacht production has increased all over the world. Together with few countries, Turkey is in the front line especially in the production of luxury yachts. Although new shipyards, marinas are opened, magazines are published and many fairs organized every year, there is a lack of human resource needed in the design field.

The Master’s Program in Design Management is a joint program between Faculty of Business and Faculty of Fine Arts and Design. Design Management Master Program is intended to be in an effective collaboration with the programs of “Master of Business Administration (MBA)” within Graduate School of Business; and “Master and Ph.D. of Design Studies” and “Master of Yacht Design” within Graduate School of Social Sciences.

Our program emphasizes the responsibility of architects for their impact on the environment. Our graduates will contribute to a new understanding of design based on an ethically responsible approach towards the environment and thus, will become involved actively in the creation of a better world. We envision a future where our graduates lead the way to developing more environmentally resilient ways of designing not only in Turkey but also all around the world.

Industrial Design is a strategic problem-solving process that drives innovative design, business success, better living conditions with innovative products, systems, services, and experiences. The application areas of industrial designers comprise various industries like product design, system design, service design, and experience design.

The core elements of industrial design education at METU Department of Industrial Design are the design studio courses and the open jury system. Taking 12 hours per week each semester, design studio courses aim to deliver professional education via hands-on practice.

Graphic Design Program affiliated to Gölyaka Vocational School Design Department was established in 2009-2010 academic year at associate degree level and trains technicians in the graphic design profession. Graphic Design, reflecting the interaction of consumer culture and folk culture;

Communication Design Department leads the visual communication effectiveness of print, time-based and interactive media with design education. The focus is on design thinking and design making towards ethical, creative and trendsetting practices across a variety of media.

Graphic design is a branch of visual communication that aims to solve problems using visual elements and typography and effectively convey a message to its audience. Within the variety of visual communication channels offered by today's technology, it has become increasingly important to convey messages to the audience quickly and clearly, and it has become a necessity in the sector to stand out with the help of graphic design.

The Visual Communication Design Department aims to raise individuals who will work as expert communication designers in Internet media, television, art, and design-related fields.
