The Associate of Applied Sciences in Dental Assisting was designed to meet the demands of a continuously evolving healthcare market. The purpose of the program is to provide students with sufficient theoretical knowledge and practical skills to perform efficiently in an entry-level position as a chairside assistant in a dental office.

CSM's Dental Assisting program is a two semester program, accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. The program provides a comprehensive education in clinical dental assisting as preparation to sit for both the State (Registered Dental Assistant) and National (Certified Dental Assisting ) examinations. Clinical experience is arranged at the University of California San Francisco Schools of Dentistry, and in various dental offices in local area.

Daytona State’s Dental Assisting, Vocational Certificate students train using the latest technology available and can seamlessly apply their skills in the workplace. Graduates earn the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (E.F.D.A.) credential required by the state of Florida and are eligible to take the Dental Assisting National Board examination to obtain the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential.
