The Master of Creative Writing at the Caro y Cuervo Institute promotes and develops creative research and written production through interdisciplinary training and a broad conception of the possibilities of written language. Its purpose is to stimulate analytical, argumentative, reflective, propositional, poetic, and creative processes around the singular solution of narrative problems. His intellectual and pedagogical proposal is based on the contemporary tension between literary creation and production of creative written content; it is about assuming such tension as an opportunity for wealth and educational openness and not as a difference to be settled.

The problem of reading and writing is recognized in academic areas as a priority issue on which it is urgent to provide answers, not only within the field of Language Sciences but in the broad spectrum of education at all levels and areas disciplinary. Although it is true that in recent years the research carried out and the postgraduate courses implemented in universities in the country and in Latin America allowed us to better understand the problem and delve into the multiple factors that intervene in it, it continues to be essential that it be assumed by the members of the educational community and effective decisions are made in this regard. The priority of the topic of reading comprehension and writing are linked above all with the acquisition of learning and the production of knowledge, consequently, it is related to the quality and equity of education. On the other hand, it transcends the strictly educational level and is projected into the areas of work and the socio-cultural development of the subjects within a community.
