Our Creative Writing program, one of the first of its kind in Canada, immerses you in every aspect of the writing life, from the development of ideas to the publication of finished works. As a Creative Writing student, you’ll learn to approach literature from a writer’s point of view as you develop your own craft under the guidance of published writers and fellow students.

The KPU Creative Writing Department offers students an opportunity to explore the craft of Creative Writing while earning a Minor. Langara College's Creative Writing program explores poetry, prose, fiction, non-fiction, and stageplay. In a reading and writing-rich environment, you will be challenged to express yourself through different voices as you study a variety of forms and techniques. Admission to a program at Langara College does not guarantee registration in required courses.

The Writing courses at King’s help students from all disciplines develop academic literacies, critical thinking skills, and their own distinct voices. First-year Writing courses (Writing 1020F/G or 1002F/G and 1022F/G) are a great starting point, no matter where your academic journey takes you.
