Our Creative Writing program, one of the first of its kind in Canada, immerses you in every aspect of the writing life, from the development of ideas to the publication of finished works. As a Creative Writing student, you’ll learn to approach literature from a writer’s point of view as you develop your own craft under the guidance of published writers and fellow students.

The KPU Creative Writing Department offers students an opportunity to explore the craft of Creative Writing while earning a Minor. OCAD University’s Creative Writing program is a hands-on, studio-based program about writing as artistic creation.

In Nelson, classes are held at the Tenth Street Campus, also home to Selkirk College's renowned Digital Arts and Music programs.

The Writing courses at King’s help students from all disciplines develop academic literacies, critical thinking skills, and their own distinct voices. First-year Writing courses (Writing 1020F/G or 1002F/G and 1022F/G) are a great starting point, no matter where your academic journey takes you. Graduates of this two-year diploma program will have the technical skills and wide range of experience crucial to navigating this industry.
