Welding is a desired skill that can be put to use in a variety of industries including vessel or structural steel assembly, pipeline construction, commercial construction, industrial construction, steel fabrication, and heavy equipment repair. Experienced welders may advance to positions such as welding inspector, welding foreman or supervisor, or plant supervisor. The Aviron Technical Institute of Montreal offers in-house General Welding training. This course gives welders an opportunity to use both their technical knowledge and their manual dexterity. They will acquire skills that meet various needs that arise in industry, where they will find many opportunities for work as skilled welders.

Welders are trained and capable of welding ferrous and non-ferrous metals in all positions, on both plate and/or pipe, using various welding processes. Note: this program is for welders who are sponsored by their employer and are registered with SkilledTradesBC. Welders who are not "active" registered with SkilledTradesBC and track their hours in a Welder Logbook should review the modular option for apprenticeship training.
