The Teacher Training Portfolio of the Department of Foreign Languages and Cultures of the University of La Sabana has changed for you. Now all courses have been divided by modules and each module is a new unique course, with no requirements or established order. You can take the course you want, obtain a micro-certificate for each course completed and expand your portfolio of skills in our Certificates platform. Some of our courses are part of a Series of courses in which you will earn a certificate.

Children with special educational needs and impairments often work one-on-one with learning support assistants (LSAs) to ensure they can benefit from classroom life. LSAs allow a teacher to teach the class as a whole with the assurance that the students who need extra assistance are getting it. This course lays out the abilities and credentials required to assist those with various learning difficulties and explains how to meet special needs.

W&L offers minors in education and education policy. Students can pursue a professional teaching license to teach in K-12 schools in one of 21 different endorsement areas through our nationally accredited teacher education program; or they can pursue an interdisciplinary minor in education policy that prepares them for work in a variety of social and political arenas. All states require professional education courses for licensure to teach in public schools. Through the Rockbridge Teacher Education Consortium (RTEC), a collaborative teacher-preparation partnership between W&L and Southern Virginia University, students may earn a teaching license in elementary, middle or secondary education.

Our Study Abroad Program invites international students to apply to study here for one or two semesters. Successful completion of units can count towards your home institution degree.

Blackburn offers teacher certification programs in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Social Science, History, English, Mathematics, K-12 programs in Physical Education and Spanish, Special Education (K-21), and Early Childhood Education. Faculty members are committed to reflective practice, constructivist teaching, and preparing teacher candidates for a future in education. Classrooms utilize technology found in K-12 school districts, including interactive whiteboards, laptops, and tablets. Blackburn has a curriculum library containing textbooks, novels, and manipulatives to facilitate successful teaching experiences for students. Education students complete a minimum of 200 hours of practical classroom experience prior to student teaching. Students begin field experiences during their freshman year at Blackburn College. Each successive field experience assignment builds on knowledge and acquired classroom skills

The Nunavut Teacher Education Program (NTEP) offers a campus and community-based program that prepares Nunavummiut to become classroom teachers in Nunavut schools. The emphasis is on training primary and elementary teachers, but students may choose to practice at the Junior High and High School levels. The program is focused on developing educators who are fluent in and able to learn and teach in Inuktitut. Applicants to NTEP should be proficient in Inuktitut. In Iqaluit, two steams of Inuktitut instruction are offered: Proficient & Emergent.

Education majors who wish to specialize in an area of interest can do so by completing the requirements of their perspective majors and any additional coursework within a concentration. Students in majors other than Education complete the courses within the concentration and then will apply for an Education minor in the specialized area. Students interested in pursuing an Education minor must complete and submit an application describing the rationale for their minor along with the list of courses the student wishes to take (applications are available via the Education Department and the Advising Office). After approval from the Department, students will be notified and their status will be updated with the Registrar's Office.

Our Teacher Training Courses (also eligible for Erasmus plus funding) aim to give teachers of English or any other language taught as a foreign language the opportunity to further their professional development as language teaching practitioners in their respective settings, whether among primary or secondary school children, with students from the same or diverse backgrounds, and even in a classroom with impaired learners.

The St. Olaf College Education Department strives to prepare reflective, anti-racist educators who adjust their plans, instruction, and assessments to continually increase their teaching effectiveness. We employ a culturally responsive-sustaining (CR-S) framework to equip teacher candidates to center historically marginalized voices in the curriculum, practice anti-racist pedagogy, and become advocates for social change. Our teacher candidates learn to affirm their students’ cultural identities, cultivate student-centered learning, and teach critical thinking skills.

The Bi-College Education Studies major is built around four mutually-informing pursuits: teacher preparation; the interdisciplinary study of learning; the investigation of the politics of schooling; and students' growth as reflective facilitators, learners, researchers. Students who complete one of the Education major options are prepared to collaborate, act, research, reflect, and work to challenge and transform oppressive educational systems into joyful and just ones. In keeping with the philosophy of the program, each course includes a field experience—from two hours each week to full-time practice teaching—through which students learn to integrate academic and experiential knowledge.

The School of Education provides 8-12 teacher certification in Biology, Chemistry, English, Math and Social Studies and P-12 certification in Art, Health/Physical Education, Music, Learning Behavior Disorders and Spanish. The Education Professional Standards Board requires ongoing assessment of educator preparation candidates. Therefore, it is important that secondary education majors remain in close contact with their education advisors. The first candidate assessment point, called CAP 1, is intent to major in the educator preparation program. CAP 2 is admission to the program and approval is required to take ED 414. All CAP requirements are described earlier in this section.

Students who follow the higher secondary education aggregation program normally take the exams at the end of the second year of the licence. They are strongly advised to follow the general courses of the program from the first year of the license.

The minor in multiage education at the University of Mount Union provides students with the knowledge to teach a variety of subjects at any level. Students will be able to pair the multiage education minor with any major to round out their education and gain an advantage in the professional world.

This qualification provides an introduction to the theory and practice of education and training. The course has no teaching practice requirement and can be taken by individuals who are not currently in a teaching role. In this course you will cover the following: Understand the roles, responsibilities and associated relationships in education and training. Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training.
