5 Taxation Course Programs

For over 50 years, the Graduate Tax Program at the University of Denver has been providing comprehensive training in tax law to lawyers and accountants through its LLM and Master of Taxation degrees. Now, with four distinct digital Badges, lawyers and accountants can gain expertise in specific tax fields without embarking on a full degree pathway. Successful earners of one or more Badges have the option of applying for the LLM or Master of Taxation degree and applying credits for one Badge to that degree if they pursue a full graduate degree.

This course aims to train professionals in accounting and taxation to participate in the management of the organisation's financial information systems, whether public or private, in terms of accounting and tax records, and in the planning and control of internal management processes, in order to obtain information relevant support to the administration/management in taking decisions regarding the organization's economic and financial management.

This course is a continuation of ACC 281 focusing on Canadian tax systems. Students will continue to utilize the Income Tax Act with an emphasis on the structure of the Act. Course topics include taxable income and tax payable for corporations, taxation of corporate investment income; rollovers including those in section 85; taxation of sales of an incorporated business; partnerships; and trust and estate planning; international taxes; and other issues in taxation. In addition, students will be introduced to management decisions around corporate taxation.

This programme is for learners who want to develop their skill and understanding of taxation and tax returns which will allow them to complete income tax returns for businesses and individuals.

This advanced tax course is designed to enhance your knowledge of taxation and provide practical interpretations and exercises to assist in dealing with complex tax issues in your day-to-day role.
