This course gives insights into the metallurgy of welding and additively manufactured deposits of different metal alloys widely used in the industry. The influence of the thermal cycles involved in the welding and additive manufacturing processes on the microstructure and properties of metal alloys is studied. In addition, the course covers several aspects connected to welding metallurgy: quality, residual stresses, fatigue, and some initiation to computational thermodynamics to predict microstructure. It is expected that the students combine the previous knowledge acquired in the courses: Advanced Materials Science, Welding Processes and Additive Manufacturing processes with the contents of this course. This course is designed and developed in cooperation with industries, therefore, industrial guest lecturers and study visits complement this course. The previous knowledge of the students on materials science is essential.
