8 Surveying Course Programs

Surveying Techniques: Apprentices learn various surveying methods such as GPS (Global Positioning System), total stations, and laser scanning. They understand how to collect accurate measurements and data in different environments. Mapping and Cartography: Apprentices are trained in creating maps and charts based on survey data. This includes using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software to analyze spatial data and create visual representations. Construction and Land Surveying: Apprentices gain knowledge of land surveying principles used in construction projects, boundary determination, and topographic mapping. They may learn about legal aspects related to land ownership and boundaries.

Quantity Surveying is one of two pathway options, available through Bournemouth and Poole College, for the Higher National Certificate in Construction and the Built Environment. Both pathways provide a solid grounding of skills and knowledge for the construction industry, including design selection criteria, specification of materials, construction terminology, sustainability, BIM, health & safety, other relevant legislation, procurement processes, and much more.

This course will be delivered in partnership with your employer, where you attend college day-release at our Blossomfield Campus and spend the remainder of your working week in your place of work and under the direction of your employer. The day in college is predominantly classroom-based; however project units may take place in a more suitable location.

The Basic Tree Survey & Inspection training offers essential skills for identifying hazardous trees, a critical aspect of various professions such as park rangers and estate workers. Our one-day course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and confidence to recognize potential hazards and report them to appropriate experts. The training provides a balanced blend of theory and practical exercises to facilitate learning. Participants will delve into relevant health and safety considerations, explore key legislation related to tree management, and master the art of conducting risk assessments in the context of tree inspection.
