The Information Technology Support Professional program at Peloton College prepares career college students to be an IT Professional! Under this program, students will learn Network Administration and build, troubleshoot and maintain computer systems.

This Skills Programme is designed for learners who would enjoy the networking environment. It would also expose learners to networking, troubleshooting and implementation of networks.

The primary role of a Network Engineer is to design, install, maintain and support communication networks within an organisation, or between organisations. Network engineers need to maintain high levels of operation for communication networks, in order to provide maximum performance and availability for their users, such as staff, clients, customers and suppliers. They will understand network configuration, cloud, network administration and monitoring tools, as well as be able to give technical advice and guidance.

Students will learn how to install, configure and operate simple-routed LAN, routed WAN and switched LAN networks to increase bandwidth, improve response times and enhance reliability and quality of service.

More and more devices and systems can now be reached through the Internet and other networks, exposing them to direct attacks. This creates challenges for many companies to appropriately secure their systems and protect themselves against possible hacker attacks. Despite the protection mechanisms currently available (e.g. non-executable storage regions, ran-domization of addresses or stack cookies inserted by the compiler), weaknesses in applications are still being successfully exploited. 

A Skills Competency Award in Web Server Administration provides students with a broad background in the application of computers to the emerging needs of business and industry. CIS courses prepare students for entry-level positions in computer programming, systems analysis, computer operations and network management, information systems management, and sales and technical information positions.

The field of computer-related technologies continues to evolve at an astounding pace. Fortunately, the Department of Computer Network Engineering provides direct access to the wide variety of exciting careers in this field. The department not only offers programs which meet the general needs of the industry, but also provides several unique specialty programs. Most programs may be completed for a highly specific technical Certificate, or taken along with General Education courses for the broader A.S. Degree. The Computer Network Engineering program prepares students to work in the area of network support, a field which currently commands excellent salaries. Students are given extensive training for many of the major industry certification exams: A+, Microsoft, and Cisco. Graduates are currently working as LAN/WAN specialists, network administrators, Internet/intranet administrators and network designers, and network engineers.

The Network Support Technician program is designed to prepare students for entry-level PC desktop support and network support positions.
