The Core Course in Public Health and Health Equity is a three-month course that prepares you to systematically analyse and address complex public health issues, covering epidemiology, health system aspects, and broader social determinants of health. The course focuses on health equity in low-resource settings and high-resource settings with disadvantaged populations. It can be taken as a stand-alone course or as part of the Master of Science in Public Health and Health Equity. IMPORTANT: This new Core Course in Public Health and Health Equity/NTC is a merger of the former Core Course of Public Health (MPH) and the Netherlands Course on Global Health and Tropical Medicine (NTC) will start from September 2024.

The Summer Course in Global Health offers participants in-depth insights into the increasing complexity of the burden of disease. In a globalizing world, health challenges transcend national boundaries and are becoming more complex. To face these challenges, including those posed by pandemics like COVID-19 and HIV/AIDS, we need a two-way flow of resources, expertise, and know-how between the Global North and Global South, involving stakeholders from different scientific disciplines.

This Evidence for public health responses: Statistical Methods in Epidemiology course is designed to equip you with advanced statistical skills crucial for informed decision-making in public health. This course delves into essential methodologies for planning epidemiological field surveys, conducting sample size calculations, and analysing complex survey data in Stata to address pressing public health challenges.

The Maastricht School of Management's Healthcare Management MBA Expertise Track (specialisation) combines principles of sustainable innovation and leadership tailored to the healthcare sector. It focuses on developing strategies for improving healthcare delivery through innovative practices and sustainable solutions.

Participants identify SRHR: Policy, Governance and Financing-related international agreements, development commitments and financial mechanisms, and analyse how these influence national policies and plans and vice versa. This module puts rights at the centre of SHRH: Organising Equitable Responses and builds on contemporary evidence to critically analyse effective responses across the constituent parts of the health system and beyond. The goal of this summer school Orthopedics and Trauma is to teach a yearly, English taught, 5-day program using a multidisciplinary approach on the subjects of orthopaedics, traumatology and sports medicine. The week consists of both an educational and social program. The summer school will be hosted by the University Medical Center Groningen and University of Groningen in collaboration with the departments of orthopaedics, sports medicine, trauma surgery, movement sciences and rehabilitation medicine.

At the 2023 Transplantation Medicine Summer School (SSTX), participants can expect to learn about the latest innovations in the field of transplantation medicine. The SSTX will be full of fascinating presentations, fun workshops, and challenging assignments. Experts from all around the world will give lectures on the current advances and research in the field. Transplant donors and recipients will also join us to share their own experiences, which will allow participants to get an insight into the daily life of transplant patients.

The goal of the Summer Schools is to teach a multidisciplinary approach to oncology to medical students before they enter the clinic. The first Summer School in Groningen was held in 1996 and in Vienna in 1999. Students that participated in the Summer schools have been extremely satisfied with the organisation, scientific content and topic range.
