In MEDSKILL - Development of MEDical SKILLs by Simulation as of today, the need for practical skills and problem-solving capabilities remains largely unmet in many medical school curricula across Europe. The goal of the Summer Schools is to teach a multidisciplinary approach to oncology to medical students before they enter the clinic. The first Summer School in Groningen was held in 1996 and in Vienna in 1999. The goal of this summer school Orthopedics and Trauma is to teach a yearly, English taught, 5-day program using a multidisciplinary approach on the subjects of orthopaedics, traumatology and sports medicine. The week consists of both an educational and social program. The summer school will be hosted by the University Medical Center Groningen and University of Groningen in collaboration with the departments of orthopaedics, sports medicine, trauma surgery, movement sciences and rehabilitation medicine.
