This reality requires the Marine Diving Technologies Program to continue to provide the highest quality divers and marine technicians worldwide. The program is open to all interested students for both diving and non-diving classes. The program serves the needs of entry-level students, employees in the workforce and students seeking personal enrichment. Students can attend part time or full-time in both diving and non-diving marine-related classes. Graduates can pursue multiple marine career paths in marine and underwater technology, working above and below the water with many types of sophisticated marine data collection instruments, diving and life-supporting equipment.

This minor is designed to prepare students for professional engineering careers in the aerospace industry or for graduate studies in the aerospace engineering field. In addition to the standard mechanical engineering curriculum, you will take advanced engineering courses covering the topics of aerodynamics, vehicle structures, reaction engines, and aircraft stability and control.

Foundation in Mechanical Engineering

This is a practical based Level 3 course, designed for learners who wish to progress down the apprenticeship route, focussing on the development of practical engineering skills. You will be given practical hands on experience that will support an apprenticeship or employment in industry. Studying this Level 3 Mechanical Engineering course will teach you about the health and safety of engineering, the principles of engineering and mechanical manufacturing engineering and machining materials by turning.

In Design Nature, every Olin student gets mechanical engineering experience by designing a toy that hops or swims (mechanical design), building a working prototype of that toy (fabrication), and modeling and predicting the behavior of a system like a monkey swinging from a tree to tree or an exploding fireworks shell (mechanical and thermal analysis).

The objective of the undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering at Caltech is to produce graduates who will attain careers and higher education that ultimately lead to leadership roles in academia, industry and government in areas of rapidly advancing interdisciplinary technology related to fluid, solid, thermal and mechanical systems. The Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering provides students with a systemic view of engineering, developed through a scaled and diversified curriculum, to prepare for a career in the development and evaluation of systems linked to aerospace vehicles, as well as in the development of orbital platforms for various purposes. These include propulsion, mechanical, energy, control and navigation systems. The graduate in Aerospace Engineering will also be able to act in the field of special materials used in such systems, as well as in aerodynamics and temperature control of aerospace vehicles and orbital platforms.

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician program at Loyalist College equips students with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge needed to thrive in the manufacturing industry. Shipbuilding and ocean engineering have been continuously included in the first and second phases of the superior discipline construction project of Jiangsu universities. The disciplines of advanced materials and processing technology and management science and information engineering are cross-disciplines of provincial project construction, integrating the advantages of multiple colleges.

The aerospace minor is intended to supplement one of Caltech's undergraduate degrees and is designed for students who wish to broaden their knowledge beyond their normal major or who may wish to pursue a graduate program involving aerospace or aeronautical engineering. Students completing the aerospace minor requirements will have the phrase "minor in aerospace engineering" added to their transcripts.
