This program is designed to help international law students and international lawyers improve their profiles through enhanced legal English and knowledge of the U.S. legal systems, dispute resolution, business and corporate law. The program also helps build the confidence and lawyering skills that many prospective employers are seeking from potential employees. Through this program, participants will learn from Moritz College of Law’s faculty experts as well as judges and practitioners working at federal courts and global law firms in Columbus.

The School of Justice Studies (which houses the Administration of Justice Program) strives to provide our students with the legal, ethical, and educational background necessary to pursue a career in a criminal justice-related field and to successfully transition into a 4- year academic program. The criminal justice system is a diversified occupational area with available employment opportunities on the federal, state, and county levels: Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Border Patrol, California Highway Patrol, municipal police departments, county sheriff's departments, federal and state departments of correction, probation, and parole.

The law reaches into every aspect of modern life, and graduates with an understanding of the legal system have opportunities in the fields of law, policy, and government as well as business and education. Law, Technology and Culture is an interdisciplinary legal studies program that combines a traditional pre-law education with a focus on the intersection of science, technology, and law.

The law & policy major investigates the laws and policies governing our collective lives, both within the United States and in a broader global context. This interdisciplinary major draws from the fields of economics, sociology, political science, religion, philosophy, environmental studies and others as students develop an understanding of how institutions operate in the application of the law.

Love learning about the law? Students pursuing a minor in Law and Society will study how laws are created and how they in turn shape social movement around various interests, exploring the intersections between law, power, and society. Students with a Law and Society minor will be prepared for careers in advocacy, legal research, and paralegal studies. This is also an excellent minor for those who wish to pursue law school after they finish their bachelor’s degree.

Students planning to attend law school after completing a degree at Rocky Mountain College are encouraged to supplement their major by taking on a secondary pre-law minor. Along with the completion of all requirements for their major, pre-law students take core courses in government, law, and logic and choose among electives encompassing analytical reasoning, advanced writing, rhetoric, and ethics.

The Pre-Law minor affords students an opportunity to explore law as a profession while preparing them for future study in a law program. The interdisciplinary approach provides students with foundational courses in the origins of legal concepts, the ability to develop reasoning, writing, and argumentation skills, and the opportunity to explore various areas of practice.

Whether you work in a highly regulated field or as an attorney, it’s essential to stay up to date on relevant legal issues and trends. We offer affordable online law courses to help refresh and sharpen your skills and address legal issues in your industry or your law career. As a nondegree-seeking student or alumnus, you can take one or more individual courses in specific areas.

This minor will be helpful for any AUM student interested in adding depth or career flexibility to their major. Through coursework and class discussion, students learn the theoretical and practical foundations of the criminal justice system in general and law enforcement in particular. Law Enforcement is one of the four minor concentrations in the Criminal Justice program to choose from, in addition to Juvenile Justice, Corrections, and Security Administration.
