The School of Italian for Foreigners program this year-round provides Italian language and academic preparation for international students who want to improve their Italian for university admission or career advancement. We offer Italian language and culture courses, on campus and at a distance, which are among the most famous in Italy. They aim at fostering linguistic interaction in Italian between students and teachers, and imply an active involvement in one of the most interesting and authentic Italian towns - Perugia. Even when at a distance, all courses are held "face to face" (synchronous lessons), therefore with the active involvement of the students.

The preparation course for architectural studies in Italy is intended for students willing to study in a Faculty of Architecture in Italy. In order to be admitted to Italian University, one must pass an entrance examination on scientific and technical subjects (in Italian). Scuola Leonardo da Vinci is among the first schools that offer preparation courses for architectural students. During our thirty-five years of experience we have put together a program which in its composition corresponds to the official program of the entrance exams. In our courses, the main emphasis is put on the language tuition and thorough preparation in the various examination subjects. In the preparation course, the students are taught by highly qualified and experienced lecturers. The purpose of the courses is not only to successfully pass the entrance exams at university but, thanks to careful tuition of many examination subjects of the first university year, to enable the students to immediately take up their studies at the university.

Some of the universities require students to take an entrance exam in order to be accepted into a specific program/major. Whether or not an exam is required for matriculation, our course prepares students for success throughout their degree’s curriculum. In some cases, an entrance exam is required for all applicants, with a limited number of students accepted into a specific University program. In other circumstances, students will take an exam solely to introduce them to topics related to their major, with an open number of applicants and as well as student acceptance. Our University preparation course at Scuola Leonardo da Vinci® will prepare students by reinforcing language skills, enhancing writing competence, and focusing on subject matter and vocabulary closely related to each specialized program.

The part-time Italian course consists of two weekly sessions of one and a half hours and is directed both towards students that want to study Italian for the first time and those that want to improve their knowledge of the language. The course is available on 4 different levels; beginner, elementary, intermediate, and advanced and lasts a minimum of 8 weeks, which can be extended.

The course 50 + courses are aimed at those who want to share an experience of language study with people of the same age group. The classes will focus on the study of grammar, conversation and at the same time, some social and cultural aspects of the host country. The first day of school students will be given a welcome pack containing information about the city and its surroundings.

The Intensive Italian Language Course is our standard course and consists of 4 Italian lessons a day, totaling 20 lessons a week. Each lesson lasts 45 minutes.

The Italian Standard Course is the most popular among students, which is ideal for those wishing to study Italian and have free time to dedicate to tourism and extracurricular activities. Inside the classroom with the help of the teacher, students discover the overall functioning of the Italian language and study of the four language skills of speaking, reading, writing and listening. The six levels of the Italian Standard Course run throughout the year.

Accademia Leonardo has launched a project called Cucina di Classe. The project includes a course with Italian lessons held in the morning, followed by cooking classes taught by Chefs who have national and international experience.
