Skills Competency Award in Public Relations. Public Relation is a fast-growing field with excellent employment opportunities, particularly at the entry level. This Skills Competency Award demonstrates a level of knowledge and training in basic Public Relations planning and skills and gives students hands-on experience in these areas. This SCA enhances students' ability to obtain entry-level jobs in Public Relations and Advertising Agencies, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and all sectors of the business world.

UFSC Journalism Program prepares students for a career as reporters, photographers, editorial designers, writers or editors in newspapers, magazines, radio, TV, internet, news agencies and press offices, either employed, as a freelancer or as an entrepreneur. Since the early stages, the student is in contact with the practice of journalism through technical courses held in the laboratories of Radio Journalism, TV Journalism, Photojournalism, Writing, Online Journalism and Infographics.
