The Academic Year in Interior and Furniture Design trains Designer specialised in furniture able both to create and manage the whole design process of a project focused on space organisation and interior decoration. The education path works on shaping the individual’s design sensitivity, the construction of a personal expressive language, the acquisition of a multidisciplinary culture that combines theoretical and practical aspects.

Interior design is the practice of space planning and designing interior spaces in homes and buildings. It involves creating floor plans, furniture layouts, and designing the look and feel of a space. Interior design also includes the specification of furniture, fixtures, and finishes, and coordinating their installation. Through the Spring Semester Introduction to Design you experience the design methodology, learning to design interior spaces for residential use, starting from the analysis of domestic spaces and development of initial concept, to the 2D view and up to the realization of models so to define the idea and check its validity.

Nowadays commercial interior design, which may include hotels and lounges, restaurants and retail spaces, offices, banks, theaters, and everything in between, plays a pivotal role in the success of any business. Whether it’s a luxury hotel or a small business owner, it is up to the commercial interior designer to translate the client’s vision in ways that are practical, profitable, and of course, chic, prioritizing functionality and safety without sacrificing style or aesthetics.
