Focus on the application of instructional strategies for teachers of the social sciences at the middle and high school levels. The English Language Institute’s synchronous remote courses are available for individuals who want to study English to advance their careers both locally and globally. Our 12 or 14-week, accelerated courses range from levels 1 to 6 and offer a strong foundation in all language skills while providing students with lively, collaborative, and challenging language exercises and tasks.

In our intensive English program, you can experience life in the US and study academic English to prepare for your university degree or future career. We offer high beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels of instruction with 18-20 hours of class per week. You will share classes with students from all over the world, including Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, South & Latin America, and the United States. We welcome all students, international and domestic.

Our Academic Study Abroad Program (ASAP) is specifically designed for eligible international university-level students to enhance their educational experience by studying in ASAP for 1, 2 or 3 quarters. While in ASAP, students have the opportunity to enroll full-time alongside matriculated UC Irvine students in credit-bearing UC Irvine courses and UC Irvine Continuing Education courses. ASAP does not offer any course accommodations or application assistance related to students' admission to their future degree programs.

English Language Institute. The new English Language Institute at Edmonds College (ELI) will offer four levels of English language courses designed for academic and professional preparation. 4 levels: Low Beginner, High Beginner, Low Intermediate, and High Intermediate.

This enriching program is designed for international university students who are seeking to advance their academic knowledge and enhance their awareness of global competencies while improving their English skills. The program features core academic preparation and a variety of rotating content-based courses on various topics.

This 6-week course is fully online and self-paced, designed for beginner English students. If you need to learn English for social, professional, and/or education purposes, this is the course for you! This course offers students the flexibility of continuing their English studies from anywhere in the world and no matter their schedule.

The Institute for International Studies (IIS) provides high-quality ESL instruction in Silicon Valley (IEP) since 1997. We also offer cross-cultural activities, and support services for international students to prepare for college or other personal and professional goals. IEP offers an online eight-week Intensive English Program six times a year in exciting Los Angeles for ESL students with academic or professional goals, including passing the TOEFL for entrance into an American university. The 21-26 hours per week IEP offers a coordinated program of conversation, grammar, writing, reading/vocabulary, pronunciation and listening. Students from all over the world enroll in this multi-level program and can continue to improve their skills by advancing from session to session. Qualified students from outside the U.S. are eligible for a student visa. Individual courses may also be taken by part-time students.

The NESE curriculum is divided into 10 levels of intensive instruction. In each level, you attend classes every day from either 9:00 - 3:15 every day (the Intensive Program) or from 9:00-12:30 (the Semi-Intensive Program).
