The degree has a theoretical-practical approach, which provides tools theoretical, methodological, and with emphasis on the articulation with gerontological practices in the different fields of professional work, from a multidimensional perspective and interdisciplinary. Aims to achieve comprehensive training on the basis of construction of knowledge and updated resources about Gerontology. It is oriented to professionals from various disciplines in order to respond to their training demands in the gerontological area, to favor the development of creative and critical capacities according to to changes in the socio-cultural context and to the growing aging of the population. The interest is 1) train and update students in approach models, lines of research and intervention in problems related to caring, attention, counseling and development of the elderly and their family and social environment; and 2) train in proposals for activities of diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, management of prevention programs for risky conditions and/or behaviors and promoting healthy aging, in order to contribute to the improvement of quality life of the elderly, and the development of professional teams in Gerontology.
