The mission of the ESOL Department is to develop students’ academic and intercultural communication skills, vital to life in the United States. The program provides a complete course of instruction as well as electives in the linguistic and pragmatic aspects of the English language, thereby enabling students to acclimate to and fully participate in diverse communities ranging from local to international, and from university to college.

TIC's intensive seven-week modules come in a variety of subjects, with difficulty levels ranging from elementary to advanced. ESL Program provides a comprehensive foundation in writing, conversation, pronunciation, reading, and listening skills.

The Pre-Sessional online courses follow exactly the same scheme of work as the face to face course, so it uses the same materials, includes the same assessments and the same number of class contact hours. The only difference is that the classes are conducted online via Zoom (the teleconferencing app).
