The Seasonal School intends to offer a multi- and inter-disciplinary learning and training experience on the main tools, methodologies, solutions, and present/future challenges that concern the technological, socio-economic, legal, and healthcare issues arising in the so-called Digital Health domain.

Data science is changing how we understand and study politics, policy, and decision-making. This course introduces students to the fundamental tools of data science, including collecting, modeling, and visualizing data, and how to apply these tools to study political and policy questions.

In DS Inno - Data Science Driven Innovation in Business and Society Seasonal School aims to examine the relationship between innovation management and data science through a multi-level approach. First, this relationship will be explored at the company level through not only theoretical knowledge but especially through firsthand testimonials and site visits to large and small enterprises.

The “R 4 aRchaeologists” winter school aims for a fruitful combination of archaeology and statistics through the teaching of Data analysis, Data mining, and data visualization techniques. It is conducted through R, programming language, and free software environment for statistical computing and graphics R.

This program offers a full semester (30 ECTS credits) taught in English.

The data science minor is designed for students not majoring in Informatics, Computer Information Science, or Computer Science & Information Technology. Students will be exposed to information technology and data sciences disciplines, learn how to communicate technical information clearly and explain ethical norms regarding data management and analysis.

Start by exploring computer science in the introductory course, Computational Thinking, learning to program while creating digital images. In the next two courses you will examine fundamental data structures and algorithms and learn how to visualize and analyze large data sets. Advanced courses allow for deeper exploration into the key areas of computer science—algorithms, computational biology, software and hardware design, robotics, graphics, computer games, and the limits of computation.

Data Science program leads to an undergraduate degree which provides graduates with the necessary mathematical and computational background to be a data scientist. It will introduce you to the applications of data science in your area of interest. Obtaining the degree will involve a combination of courses and experiential learning components in the form of a research paper, practicums and internships. Whether you are interested in precision medicine, dealing with data sets on environment or business analytics, or understanding complex systems, you will learn how to use the tools and problem-solving skills of computer science and mathematics to work with data.

The Data Science minor is an interdisciplinary program with courses in a number of departments. Such data skills can complement and enhance liberal arts study across a broad range of subject matters and interests. In the humanities, the minor provides technical skills that can powerfully complement the writing, creativity and critical analysis encouraged in humanities courses. In social sciences, the minor promotes facility with data supplements and enhances your ability to analyze and understand societal questions and problems. In natural sciences and mathematics, the minor deepens data management skills and can improve quantitative analysis in all major fields.
