You’ll create systems that analyze, transform, and describe information. You’ll learn the complexities of computer systems and use them to solve complex problems, and deepen your understanding in cutting edge topic such as like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, internet of things, and mobile application development. You will opportunities to perform research with our world class faculty.

This module will introduce you to the lean startup methodology which aims to reduce the product development cycle and establish the viability of a proposed business model. Taking its influence from lean manufacturing principles, the lean startup approach aims to minimise waste and focus on exercising practices that bring real value. This means avoiding substantial outside funding, sticking to a simple business model and plan, and using constant customer feedback during the product development stage to ensure the startup is creating something that truly meets customer needs. You will work on your own idea for a minimum viable product (MVP) according to the lean startup methodology’s build-measure-learn principle.

The Computer Science program provides a strong foundation in computer science theory and in its practical applications including neural networks, artificial intelligence, robotics, graphics, computer security, software engineering, and game design. You may choose to pursue a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science, or a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Computer Science, based on your preference and the courses you choose. This will allow you to tailor your degree to be more applied or theoretical by selecting courses that align with your interests, and you will be supported by faculty who are genuinely interested in providing you with the skills to make your dreams a reality. You also have the option of simultaneously attaining a Certificate in Game Design and Development.

A computer science minor complements majors from mathematics, physical science, chemistry, biology, and forensic science by integrating students’ knowledge and the problem-solving skills learned through the study of computer methods. The course listings below are a representation of what this minor requires. Select elective courses may also be included. Students may have to take additional courses to fulfill the prerequisites of the required courses.

Computer Science prepares students to lead in a world experiencing sweeping technological change. Barnard’s Computer Science program offers meaningful computing education and experiences to all Barnard students and partners with Columbia's Computer Science department to offer a major in Computer Science. The program aims to expand students' use and understanding of computation and data analysis across disciplines; offer students opportunities to think critically about the social implications of technology, including how to harness it for social good; promote curricular and pedagogical advances in computer science and its multidisciplinary applications; and provide new models for engaging students and enhancing diversity in computing.

Welcome to the Williams College Computer Science Department. We have a faculty of thirteen professors, all of whom are active researchers in a range of areas including artificial intelligence, parallel processing, human-computer interaction, algorithms, complexity theory, game theory, networking and distributed systems, storage, and programming languages. We offer a wide variety of introductory classes to students. These include not only courses designed to provide an introduction to computer programming, but also a number of courses focusing on topics like e-textiles, data science, video game appreciation, and an introduction to the Internet. Our major provides both a solid foundation in the core concepts of our discipline and the opportunity to explore topics in-depth in our many electives.

Computer Science at Trinity is a small, cohesive department offering a close working relationship between faculty and students, both in and out of the classroom. The department has been able to react quickly to the latest developments in computer technology by introducing new languages and systems in both elementary and advanced classes. Students in computer science classes have numerous opportunities for developing Internet skills and have access to state-of-the-art workstations.

The joint major in computer science and mathematics is cooperatively administered by the computer science and mathematics departments, and students will have faculty advisors from both departments. The purpose of the joint major is to provide a program of study tailored to students who are interested in the interdisciplinary connections between computer science and mathematics. Depending on how electives are selected, the program positions successful majors for graduate studies in either computer science or mathematics, or for immediate employment.

The Mathematics and Computer Science Department offers a strong curriculum in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, and computer science, in a friendly and supportive environment. Students who major in computer science at DePauw study the design and development of software and hardware to solve problems in business, scientific and social contexts. DePauw offers first-rate laboratories and facilities that enable students with all levels of computing experience to engage in high-quality courses and innovative application.

A major focus of the courses is on the development of skills in computational thinking and programming through practice, critical thinking, and innovation. All components of every Computer Science design have some active learning strategies incorporated into them such as think-pair share, debate, programming or research projects, and multimedia presentations.

A minor in Computer Science opens doors in every industry, and any career path is enhanced with an understanding of computing and the languages of technology. The Computer Science Program was built in collaboration with Google to focus on the skills employers are looking for right now. Students will complete the program with an impressive portfolio of completed work, including website and app builds and a knowledge of multiple computing languages.
