Mandarin Garden Chinese Language School offer Chinese language courses online for all over the world. Our mandarin courses are suitable for all levels of Chinese - from beginner to advanced - and include Business Chinese, Chinese immersion programs, HSK exam preparation and private Chinese lessons.

Chinese is one of the most widely used languages in the world today and has a rich past. Its writing system is only slightly modified from its ancient origins 3,000 years ago. With four levels of Mandarin Chinese language courses paired with studies of modern Chinese literature, film and culture, the Chinese major at Whitman College will help connect you to some of the world’s most complex and vibrant societies. Plus, at Whitman, you can complement your major in Chinese with courses in South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, Global Literatures, History, Philosophy and more.

The Department of Asian Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (DALLC) regularly offers four levels of instruction in Modern Standard Chinese (Mandarin), designed to enable the student to become proficient in aural comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing, as well as introductory courses in Classical Chinese, and occasionally, Cantonese and Taiwanese. The department also offers disciplinary courses taught either in English or in Chinese on Chinese literature, linguistics, or cultural studies. Students majoring in Chinese are strongly encouraged to study in mainland China or Taiwan during one or both semesters of their junior/senior year, or during the summer. All students, whether you are a language learner or a native speaker, are cordially invited to join us for the weekly Chinese language table.

The Chinese program offers four levels of courses. In addition to intensive training of skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, the program emphasizes the connection between curriculum and career and tries to create opportunities for students to use their acquired language skills in daily life and to learn other subjects. Fourth level Chinese courses are designed with the concept of “using Chinese to learn” and a specific subject to be studied in Chinese (such as film, journalism, and business).

The Chinese online language program is designed for students who are willing to learn Chinese during COVID-19 pandemic. Tianjin International Chinese College (TICC) online Chinese courses are designed for you to study at home. Our courses include HSK class, Spoken Chinese class, Business Chinese class, Chinese Writing class, and many more. You can simply stay home, study with us, complete our course and earn a certificate.

Learn basic Chinese in our accelerated introductory course, while being exposed to Chinese culture through movies, music, and food. Develop your language skills with a class on Chinese Theater Performance, and take advanced-level courses that allow you to discuss abstract topics with depth and nuance. Students read, rehearse, and perform a work from the modern Chinese dramatic repertoire as a means of furthering developing skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

The Chinese Studies major offers academically rigorous courses in Chinese language, history, literature, culture, religion, and film studies. Students acquire the general literacy and appreciation of the richness and variety of traditional and modern Chinese Studies in its broadest sense. Chinese Studies majors gain a deep understanding from reading and pondering the issues presented in the carefully selected materials regarding the above areas. Chinese Studies provides students the ability to study in depth about China and Chinese speaking regions and to develop their academic skills and qualifications for careers related to China.

Students who major in Chinese Language and Literature focus on the study of Chinese language, literature, and culture, with the aim of achieving proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, including speaking, listening, reading and writing. The major requires courses aimed at helping majors to develop a comprehensive understanding of Chinese culture through the study of literature, humanities, and social sciences. It also requires a course in either literary theory or translation.

Join the Group class to study Chinese with students having the same level as you and make get familiar with people from all over the world. Together with your classmates, you can interact easily in class and join our extracurricular activities like cooking courses, hiking in the mountains, visiting a traditional tea art studio etc. to get in touch with Chinese culture.

Long-term class (with duration of more than half a year) enrolls new students twice annually, which commence in March and September respectively. The Chinese language study includes four phrases: introduction courses, elementary courses, intermediate courses, and advanced courses.
