Comics, or storytelling through words and images in sequence, has grown beyond fiction and autobiography to include applications in fields as diverse as journalism, law, medicine, and archaeology. The history and critical study of comics, through the Comics Minor, will serve students whose practice includes communicating critically through sequential combinations of word and image.

The Animation Minor focuses on facilitating the development of original creators in the conceptualization and creation of digital and analog forms of expression in graphically created motion art works, be it an animated short, transmedia exploration, spreadable media, narrative sequential art, gallery installation, or one of the many other applications of motion art.
