This course allows students to improve their reading skills and grammar accuracy in both spoken and written English. In this class, a wide variety of reading texts are studied in detail. The diversity in content exposes students to a broad range of vocabulary and grammar, as well as literary forms.

Academic English Intro is designed for students who have had little exposure to the English language. It introduces students to the four main language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. In this level, students will be focusing on creating language through phonic and word analysis, and develop a solid understanding of the English Alphabet. At the completion of this level, students will feel confident holding short conversations about everyday topics.

This program helps you prepare for success in general English. You participate in introductory level English language courses in reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, and vocabulary, while also focusing on essential skills for success. Language learning is facilitated through classroom and technology-assisted learning, and an exploration of Canadian and intercultural contexts through everyday situations. You learn through group work, discussions, and experiential learning outside the classroom.

In this course students are able to maintain interaction and get across what they want to express in a range of contexts, and follow the main points of extended discussion. They can participate in most classroom activities and follow directions. They exhibit growing confidence in their ability to comprehend and respond in English, express the main point coherently and comprehensibly with little grammatical and lexical corrections.

The ILSC High School Program: Fast Track to Higher Education program is a package program designed to help you enter a college, TAFE or university program in Canada, Australia or the USA. Strengthen your English skills for academic purposes and learn essential skills for success in higher education with ILSC. Meanwhile, you’ll complete 6 integral high school credit courses with TVO ILC.

This course allows students to easily participate in classroom and social activities, constantly adding to their knowledge of vocabulary, Canadian culture, and language usage proficiency. Students are able to account for and sustain their opinions in discussion by providing relevant explanations, arguments, and comments. They can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity as they acquire a new degree of language awareness.

This intensive non-credit program is designed for people who wish to improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Small groups ensure that each learner receives individualized attention.

Complete the specific high school credit courses that interest you or that you need to meet prerequisites for a college, TAFE, or university program. ILSC High School Program: Individual Credits is a flexible program that allows you to target and complete one, two or more high school credits. Students age 16+ can study Online or Distance Learning or in class at any location and combine their credits with ILSC English for Academic Purposes or ESL-High School Bridge. Students age 14-15 can take the in-class program in Toronto, Vancouver or New Delhi, and combine their high school credit course(s) with ILSC’s ESL-High School Bridge classes.
