Liberal arts ideology comes from the era of antiquity. It is the idea that a free person must know certain things to be a good member of society. Tallinn University’s liberal arts in social sciences does not teach rhetoric or grammar but does give you all you need to know about social sciences. The program looks into various social sciences and teaches the student how to find common ground. Students can create their major via electives after the core courses have introduced the different social sciences. The program includes practical training so the graduates obtain some work experience for the real world within their chosen field, and the analytical and writing skills necessary for future studies in Estonia or elsewhere.

It is a well-established fact that the best way to learn a foreign language is to visit a country where it is spoken.  Estonia’s historical connection provides students with one of the best opportunities to learn Russian in the region. The teachers in the course are all native speakers of Russian and they all use the most up-to-date teaching materials. Furthermore, the course offers a real opportunity for genuine communication in Russian – while at the same time offering European standards of safety and service.

The digital era needs digital solutions. Digital solutions can prevent and manage healthcare issues faster and more effectively both at the personal and societal levels. E-health innovations are proven to promote health and behaviour change in various health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, etc. However, developing effective technological solutions for behaviour change requires an interdisciplinary approach.

This is a two-week extensive hands-on course in interaction design. The main goal of the course is to empower people to shape their digital environment thus providing a new level of digital literacy. The course introduces core design and interaction design topics in a provocative stance, inviting participants to reflect upon ongoing shifts, connections, and re-framings in just about every area of interaction design, and inciting a rebellion against passivity.

The Actuarial and Financial Engineering master's programme at the University of Tartu aims to provide students with skills and knowledge of quantitative risk assessment and management methods at financial institutions: banks, insurance companies, investment funds, pension funds, financial supervision authorities, securities firms, credit companies, etc., in Europe and worldwide.

The main aim of the programme is to educate specialists with skills and knowledge that will help them to find jobs and contribute to the success of various companies working on the field of industrial or medical biotechnology, circular bioeconomy, bioprocessing, etc.

The program consists of the following modules: Master's thesis (30 ECTS), Specialist subjects in Radiotherapy (30 ECTS), Internship in Radiotherapy (30 ECTS), and Basic subjects (30 ECTS, incl. elective subjects 6 ECTS).

This study program offers different subjects focusing on diverse paths of communication management. By studying Communication Management you will be able to design and manage communications and solve problems in an innovative way, using analytical thinking, scientific knowledge, and international best practice. You can also conduct research and find applications for the results of your research in various fields of communication. International staff will share their experiences and bring you closer to real work experience.

The Documentary MA program is focused on the auteur concept of the creative documentary. During the two-year studies, the students are guided to find their author’s voice and develop their factual storytelling skills. Each student creates a short documentary each semester.
