TRAIN, TEACH, DEVELOP With this Master's Program in Educational Sciences with a mention in Educational Administration, the Free University of Costa Rica wishes to contribute to the freedom that exists in the educational system of our country, strengthening the field of private education, the formation of educational policies, as well as the leadership resources that our education has, allowing a sustainable development in our society, guiding the ethical, moral and democratic values ​​that constitute it. The curriculum is focused on courses related to different areas of knowledge, integrated around the problems of education and complemented with a final graduation project, according to the nature and levels of demand of each of the courses and the areas in management, in what corresponds to the modality called Professional Master's Degree. This type of Master's focuses information on the inquiry, observation, analysis, systematization of the sociocultural reality, and the dynamics of educational institutions and programs in Costa Rica. This process is postulated as the starting point to generate adequate knowledge. Parallel to this, the study of the specific situation of the Educational Administration of the country is emphasized and the respective theoretical-methodological frameworks based on bibliographic consultation and on the comparison of experiences at the national level are elaborated. The synthesis of these two aspects, national reality, and theoretical-methodological foundation will allow the graduate of this plan to achieve the proposed objectives.

It is attached to the Postgraduate Program of the School of International Relations of the National University of Costa Rica. It has three emphases: Management, Ports, and Agro-chains, made up of six quarters where the first three quarters share a common trunk and from the fourth quarter it specializes in the selected area. This Master's program attracts graduates of economics and engineering, where it seeks to provide the student with the latest generation tools in key logistics processes such as purchasing, storage, inventory control, transportation planning, and distribution, and incorporates the most recent technological, managerial, social and commercial trends that are conditioning the discipline that allows them to better face the demands of the current market.

OBSERVE, SUPPORT, MOTIVATE From the professional point of view, the work in the field of Systemic Family Therapy has started from professionals motivated by related therapeutic interventions. Systemic Family Therapy uses different models of intervention with proven efficacy and increasingly widely used. In the country, there is a need to specialize with depth and breadth for the best and highest performance and job competence in the face of a family, partner, and individual demands that require a comprehensive response to their needs and problems of various kinds. Considering the above, the Free University of Costa Rica presents the PROFESSIONAL MASTER'S PROGRAM IN SYSTEMIC FAMILY THERAPY, aimed at training future therapists in a systemic model, which allows them to intervene in a wide variety of clinical and non-clinical situations, through the training of highly trained professionals. The strict limitation to a small group allows us to offer intensive and individualized practice.

The confluence of cutting-edge Western and Indigenous science and knowledge has opened the doors to a new paradigm of peace and development. The Master of Arts in Indigenous Science and Peace Studies (ISPS) brings these two ways of knowing together to challenge a failing framework with time-tested methodologies that sustain life and create transformative opportunities amidst the global catastrophes we face right now. The transformation of policy, diplomacy, development models, and innovative technologies in ways that respect the interconnections of people and facilitate stronger and more sustainable solutions across all sectors of society, is at the core of the program.

All students enrolled under this program will take most of the courses within the International Peace Studies program, however, this specialization will include 12 credits focused specifically on Media, Peace, and Conflict Studies.

With the co-sponsorship of the Muslim World League, the Pontifical Lateran University, and the World Jewish Congress, this program has been designed to nurture your critical thinking abilities, foster your research skills, and provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to be an intersectional scholar who is being mindful of the religious and cultural dimensions of conflict transformation and peacebuilding.

The Master of Arts in Development Studies and Diplomacy, offered by UPEACE in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), is an interdisciplinary program designed to enhance students' understanding of development, sustainability, and diplomacy while equipping them with essential soft skills for a successful international career. Offered online, the curriculum explores various dimensions of development—environmental, social, economic, and human—along with contemporary diplomatic practices. Students will benefit from skills development and coaching sessions tailored to enhance their professional prospects across diverse sectors, including governments, international organizations, and academia. Additionally, participants can opt for a field visit to Geneva or The Hague, providing a unique immersion in the realms of diplomacy and international law.

The Master of Arts in International Law and Diplomacy (online and hybrid formats) is a graduate program permitting students to specialize in the interface between international law and diplomacy. It will not only broaden students' knowledge in the field of international law and its various foundational dimensions but will also equip them with knowledge and skills to work in the field of diplomacy and related international careers. During this program, students will analyze the different dimensions of international law including those related to law-making, armed conflicts, human rights, economic relations, territorial and maritime disputes, and environmental disputes as well as those related to the theory and practice of diplomacy in the 21st century including dispute settlement and conflict resolution. Students will also attend skills development sessions that are designed to support their professional careers and employability.

The online Master of Arts program in Sustainable Peace in the Contemporary World engages competent professionals and researchers to resolve pressing and complex global problems that concern humanity. Every course in the program shares a commitment to ethics, fundamental human values, gender sensitivity, and multiculturalism. The content of the online M.A. moves from a study of the origins of conflict at the personal, local, internal, and international levels to the promotion and practice of peace.

The Master of Arts Degree in Peace Education seeks to develop and strengthen the capacity of formal and informal educators to build a peaceful world on all levels and in all dimensions of life. Through coursework and independent research or internship experiences, complemented with a unique and cooperative learning environment at UPEACE, students will enhance their values formation, knowledge and skills for living in and building cultures of peace. An understanding of the roles education, educators and institutions can play in resolving and transforming conflicts and violence towards holistic cultures of peace is explored.

The Master of Arts Degree Program in Gender and Peace Building offers critical knowledge and training in gender studies, which is a crucial aspect of any and all peace efforts.
