This scientific discipline addresses the range of strategic, managerial, and operational activities involved in the gathering, processing, storing, distributing, and use of information and its associated technologies. The focus is on how to store data and how to present data to users.

This programme covers the understanding of earth systems, the integration of theoretical and practical investigation, a holistic and multidisciplinary scientific approach, the importance of spatial and temporal scale, the importance of sustainability, the examination of resource use and environmental management.

This encompasses the physical, chemical and biological sciences, including the earth’s materials, formation and structure plus accompanying economic, social and environmental issues.

Environmental Sciences provides a quantitative and interdisciplinary approach to the study of human-environment interactions and their impacts as well as the concept of sustainability.
