The Cosmetology Program of Study leads to an Associate of Science Degree. This degree requires the successful completion of 55 units of coursework.

With only 6 additional classes from Iowa Central Community College, you can earn an Associate of Applied Sciences Degree.

The Pitt Community College Cosmetology program is one of the most distinguished and affordable programs in Eastern NC. Our PCC Hair Styling Academy offers 1500 hours of training through classroom hours as well as supervised practical experience. Students can earn their required hours and be eligible for the North Carolina Cosmetic Arts Board licensing examination in just one year!

Knowledge of the theories of hair, skin, and nail care is coupled with the practice of the various techniques used in salons. See program checklists for more information. Included in this 1500 clock hour program are hair, skin, and nails, practical applications, and professionalism. The student in the cosmetology program also learns about the business operations in the salons.
