10 Construction Degree Programs in Romania

The aim of the program is to train highly qualified specialists with a holistic, integrative, and regenerative vision of nZeB buildings and cities, through an advanced interdisciplinary training process.

The Faculty of Installation Engineering (FII) was established in 1949. The Faculty trains engineers specializing in the design, construction and operation of all systems in a building: heating, ventilation, air conditioning, water and wastewater supply, lighting, aspects of building security (fire safety, burglary protection, etc.), energy production and distribution systems (thermal and cooling installations, renewable energies, heat distribution, electricity distribution), building automation and management systems. This field covers both the existing built environment, its rehabilitation and the design and construction of the built environment of the future.

This program is aimed at engineers from various specializations, architects, as well as graduates from other fields of study. The disciplines allow specialization in 3 distinct areas: design/execution (1), land infrastructure (2), and construction management (3).

Accredited by the Romanian Ministry of Education since 2013, the masters “Structural Engineering” are 2 years post graduate programs, with teaching and examinations entirely in English language or in the French language.

The bachelor in civil engineering is open to Romanian and foreign bachelor graduates. They also accommodate Erasmus+ exchange students. UTCB has 126 Erasmus+ agreements with universities from 25 countries. For the academic year 2024-2025 over 30 Erasmus students from France, Spain and Greece already registered to follow lectures in our faculty (bachelor or master).

After the first cycle of studies (license), the master's degree in “Energy efficiency of technical building installations”, EEITB adds to the skills of engineers, in-depth knowledge in the main areas of research developed in our Faculty: building energy, comfort in indoor environments, the behavior of technical building systems (ventilation, heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical installations, lighting, sanitary installations, automatic management, acoustics, air pollution and filtration systems, renewable energy sources).

The Masters Sustainable futures and urban change is located at the critical intersection of development, environment and urban transformations. In a multidisciplinary approach, we invite students to examine emerging problems that require urgent and complex policy interventions. Understanding these critical junctures is a precondition for re-articulating the relations between society and the environment in a new politics of sustainable development. Placing the development-environment nexus in an urban context, this program examines recent developments in the field of sustainability and resilience.

A modern interdisciplinary study program offered at the Faculty of Civil Engineering since 2005, the first English-taught master’s program in the field of Civil Engineering in Romania. The program is intended to help students gain expertise in designing civil engineering structures, develop skills in construction project management, finite element analysis and many more.

There is an increasing demand for construction graduates worldwide. Those holding a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from TUIASI are able to perform tasks in the design and building processes for civil, industrial and agricultural constructions both in new investments projects or the rehabilitation of existing structures.
