As technology continues to transform the way we live, work and play, there is an increasing demand for professionals with an understanding of the intersection between the fields of engineering and computer science.

The E.C.E.T. department serves as a home for four BS degree programs which include, Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Automation and Control Engineering Technology and Information Technology. Each of these programs allow our graduates to enter the job market with specific skill sets, allowing them to launch their careers in well paid entry level job positions. The breadth of study in these degree programs allows our graduates to relatively quickly move into positions of responsibility in fields such as design, testing, manufacturing, system integration, maintenance, production support, customer support and business systems support.

This specialized Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Computer Systems Technology will include various certifications and credentials. The degree is designed for students who are seeking flexible, applicable, industry-specific education that is paired with nationally recognized certifications and credentials. Spun off from the Laboratory of Science and Technology for Learning of the Computer Science and Information Engineering Department, the Graduate Institute of Network Learning Technology (NLT) was established in 2002 with a foundation built from the first phase of the 4-year University Pursuit of Academic Excellence Project on Learning Technology started in 2000, supported by the Ministry of Education.

You’ll spend time looking into the development lifecycle of video games with a particular focus on the player experience and how game developers can shape this. You’ll be introduced to the high-level programming knowledge a game developer needs, allowing you to create games that are robust and efficient – a critical requirement of the video games industry. You’ll also understand the principal components of high-level programming code, laying the foundation for other modules.

The Computer Information Systems (CIS) major is designed to incorporate the tools and techniques of management with advanced computer technology.

Northeastern Technical College’s Business & Computer Technology programs prepare students to become efficient contributors to the productivity of business and industry. Course work includes a practical study of management, computers, accounting, organizing, planning, production, and supervision. Students may specialize by a selection of electives. Some courses in this division may be accepted for transfer to a four-year institution and be applied toward a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.
