The Department of Computer Technology and Information Systems has designed its curriculum to equip students with hands-on experience as well as the knowledge and background gained from a software-concentrated education.

The Department of Communication and Design educates students to enter the media as digital design professionals who are knowledgeable about global culture, media, and art and who are proficient in the contemporary technology of communications.

Learners in the programme receive an application-based education with laboratory facilities. The education includes all algorithm and mathematical infrastructures required for all kinds of solutions to software and hardware issues that may arise.

The Data Science Master's Degree Program is designed to offer a comprehensive educational experience in the realm of data science, addressing the increasing global and local demand for expertise in this field. Its primary objectives are to cater to the burgeoning need for data science professionals worldwide, including in Turkey, and to foster advancements in scientific research within this domain by facilitating collaborative research endeavors among faculty members across various academic disciplines.

Computer Engineering Program at MEF University is designed to combine a solid core of computer engineering courses with mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering courses. The computer engineering core is designed to emphasize both hardware and software courses.

At the undergraduate level the Department aims particularly to equip students with up-to-date knowledge and practical skills required for K-12 computer teachers. Computer laboratories are available to enrich the theoretical background of prospective teachers. An important objective given a high priority by the Department is to provide its teacher graduates with relevant contemporary information, training, and prerequisite skills to enable them to guide their students to the year 2000 and beyond.

In today’s world, molecular biology, biochemistry, and other biological fields are becoming increasingly information driven. Mainly the need of processing massive quantities of sequence information generated by recent developments in genome sequencing and proteome analysis has propelled these life sciences into a new era in which computer science, information technologies, and biology merged into a single discipline as bioinformatics.

Biology, biotechnology and biosciences have been rapidly developing since 2000. To handle the data produced, computer technology is required due to the excessive amount of data.

As a result of the rapid change in the field of computer science in the last 10 years, Software Engineering is an engineering branch that has emerged for the need to develop, manage and maintain software that is compatible with developing technologies, more rapidly, reliably, and with high quality. In addition to having the main concepts of computer engineering in it, it is an area aiming to have the knowledge of engineering that dominates all the processes in the software life cycle.

With the escalating threat of cybercrime and security breaches in contemporary times, the significance of this discipline is anticipated to grow exponentially in the foreseeable future. However, there exists a notable dearth of skilled professionals, including researchers, academicians, and practitioners, capable of fulfilling the increasingly sophisticated demands of the industry.
