Civil Engineering is one of the disciplines of professional engineering, dealing with the creation of civilian-used structures from conceptualization through to construction and maintenance. Both publicly-funded governments and private companies are involved in civil engineering.

Though there are several universities located in San Marino, it is the University of the Republic of San Marino that garners the most international attention. Students travel from all over the world to attend this university, primarily for the emphasis that is placed on electronic learning.
