9 Chemistry Degree Programs in Hungary

MSc in Chemistry can be joined at the Faculty of Science of the University of Pécs. The courses are open from September, each year, and are continued during a 4-semester cycle. The education is followed in English. The students who have studied chemistry, biochemistry, physics, and pharmacy at the undergraduate level (BSc) will complete their knowledge at the Master of Science level. The subjects of the Chemistry MSc studies include Advanced mathematics, Solid phase physics, Molecular biology, Coordination chemistry, Elemental organic chemistry, Advanced physical chemistry, Instrumental analysis, Theoretical chemistry, Organic chemistry of natural compounds, Surface chemistry, Proteins and protein networks, Advanced chemometric, Environmental technology, Pharmaceutical chemistry, Radiochemistry, and several more specific applied chemistry subjects.

The Doctoral School of PhD in Chemistry offers a four-year training and research program in a wide range of fields in chemical sciences, Analytical Chemistry, Bioorganic Chemistry, Homogeneous Catalysis, Chemistry of Coordination Compounds, Electrochemistry, Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Theoretical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Separation Science. The chemistry program began in 1993 and since then the students have had access to all modern techniques and could take part in international scientific research programs, which leads the outstanding students to obtain a Ph.D. degree upon complying with the requirements of their studies.

The study program in BSc in Chemistry offers complete education in chemistry, with directions in inorganic and organic chemistry, analytical and environmental chemistry, and physical chemistry.

Doctoral training at the School of Chemistry and Environmental Sciences aims to educate specialists capable of independent and creative work in key areas of chemistry and environmental science, in line with the needs of a market economy. The programme provides a strong foundation for obtaining a doctoral degree.

The goal of this program is to provide a rigorous, research-oriented undergraduate education in chemistry, built on a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and core chemical disciplines. The curriculum is designed to progressively develop theoretical understanding, quantitative reasoning, and advanced laboratory skills.

The goal of this program is to give an advanced level knowledge in the major fields of analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry. The program involves obligatory lectures and laboratory practices in all four fields. (Semi)elective courses offer the opportunity of tuning the program content according to interest.

The program aims to train chemists according to the needs of the specialty, the economy, and the labour market, who have a high level of theoretical and practical chemical knowledge in the field and an adequate level of basic knowledge in related specialties (e.g., mathematics, physics, computer science, and professional foreign language).

It offers the possibility to enhance the chemistry knowledge, especially in the areas that characterize the chemical research in UNICAM. The course provides skills and fundamental knowledge in innovative chemistry areas, in order to offer an educational qualification competitive on the global labor market. The Master of Science in Chemistry and Advanced Chemical Methodologies has the 'Chemistry Euromaster Certification', a label that assures an educational quality complying with the European model.

The aim of this study program is the training of chemists possessing theoretical and practical knowledge in chemistry as well as satisfactory basic knowledge in related fields of science (e. g. mathematics, physics, informatics, biology) and at least one foreign language. Degree holders will be able to apply their knowledge in recognizing and solving practical problems in industrial chemical production, in analytical, agricultural, and quality assurance laboratories, as well as in various fields of administration and environmental protection.
