TheSimulation Based Clinical Education (Online Learning) PgCert, PgProfDev at the University of Edinburgh is an online, interprofessional programme which prepares graduates for careers in supporting simulation-based education, promoting employability in this rapidly growing area. Students at Edinburgh will benefit from the unique collaboration between the Clinical Education team at the University of Edinburgh and simulation experts based within the Clinical Simulation team at the Medical Education Directorate, NHS Lothian.

Surgical Writing and Evidence-Based Practice (Online Learning) PgCert, PgProfDev is offered by our University, in partnership with the BJS Foundation. The programme aims to support surgeons, clinicians and others to acquire an academic qualification that recognises knowledge and skills in writing for clinical practice.

The Global Health Challenges (Online Learning) PgCert (ICL), PgCert, PgProfDev We have designed the programme to help students have a better understanding of the big global health challenges in the world and to equip students to better respond to these challenges whether in jobs in development, industry, health and social care, the charity sector, journalism or in international relations.

This program in Global Health Studies is designed to enable those with a personal, academic or professional interest in global health to study a variety of related subjects and join colleagues and fellow students in a global community. This certificate provides an ideal learning environment for legal professionals, policymakers and professionals in both the public and private sectors to develop skills and knowledge in relation to legal matters which impact their work. Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder refers to the physical, emotional and developmental effects of alcohol exposure during pregnancy. Neurodevelopmental disorders are known to be caused by prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE). Health services worldwide are struggling to measure and address the issue. In March 2022 the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) published UK-wide guidance for assessing and diagnosing FASD, building on guidance published in 2019 by the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidance Network (SIGN 156).
